Why Selleasy requires customer data access? Do we save customer data in our database?
For our billing purpose, Selleasy needs access to "orders" which is a type of customer data. However protected customer fields like name, email, address and phone, will not be shared with us.
Order data is also not saved by us, we just use it as a count metric for billing. So we do not store any customer related data in our database, only the app settings is saved, and that can be purged on request. - BookEasy - Customer data protection
BookEasy uses the following Customer data:
- Name - First name and last name fields
- Email - Email ID field
- Phone - Default and shipping phone number fields
- Address - Shipping address fields
Why we need access to these fields:
- Name - The app uses the customer’s name while sending emails on appointment booking and reminders. And also listed in the booking dashboard.
- Email - The app uses the customer’s email ID to send emails.
- Phone - The app shows the customer’s phone number in the booking dashboard.
- Address - The app shows the customer’s address in the booking dashboard.
What we do with this data:
- Customer data is used while sending emails/reminders on appointment booking.
- Data stored in the database is used to display in the booking dashboard.
How we ensure customer data is protected:
- Customer data is stored in AWS database which is a highly durable and secured storage infrastructure.
- Our database is configured to encrypt customer data stored at rest and also data in transit.
- We have user access management to control who can be authenticated (signed in) and authorized (have permissions) to use our database resources. By default, only the application can access the data.
- Our database user activities are logged for any monitoring.
Data retention:
- The customer data retention period is a maximum of 1 year.
